President Prabowo Subianto of Indonesia expressed his full support for Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s initiative to bring hundreds of Brazilian business leaders to Indonesia. This announcement came after a productive bilateral meeting between the two leaders at Palácio do Planalto in Brasília on Wednesday. Prabowo welcomed Lula’s proposal, highlighting the potential for enhanced cooperation between the two countries, particularly in trade and investment. He emphasized the importance of turning agreements into concrete actions to benefit both nations. Prabowo acknowledged the shared interests and resources between Indonesia and Brazil, noting their similarities in size, population, and natural resources. He also praised Brazil’s achievements in agriculture and bioenergy, expressing Indonesia’s eagerness to learn from their advancements. Additionally, Prabowo appreciated Lula’s support for Indonesia’s plan to send technical teams to study Brazil’s innovations in agriculture. Aside from the bilateral meeting, Prabowo was in Brazil to attend the BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro. Lula is set to visit Indonesia in October, where a grand celebration is being prepared for his 80th birthday.
