National Nutrition Agency (BGN) is actively promoting local employment opportunities by selecting workers for the Nutritional Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) from individuals living in extreme poverty. Redy Hendra Gunawan, Special Staff to BGN, shared that a minimum of 30% of personnel in each SPPG will be recruited from disadvantaged households, aligning with the President’s directive to ensure the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Program contributes to job creation. Currently, there are 2,378 SPPG units established in collaboration with 6,076 local economic institutions, with 93,572 community members volunteering in the program. The MBG Program has benefitted over 7.4 million individuals nationwide, including students, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, toddlers, and more. In the next 10 days, BGN plans to launch an additional 2,401 SPPG units to serve an estimated 15 million beneficiaries. This expansion demonstrates a substantial effort to support job creation and address nutritional needs in underprivileged communities.
