ONLINE24 , Surabaya, – Approximately 35 days before the presidential election, the 10th and 12th Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Jusuf Kalla (JK), again reminded the Indonesian people to be careful in choosing a president in the 2024 election, next February. JK refers to the presidential candidate who likes to get angry.
“If this country is led by a president who likes to get angry, whoa,” JK said as a source in the national and entrepreneurial dialogue event held by the Indonesian Muslim merchant association at the Namira Hotel, Suarabaya, East Java, Wednesday, January 10, 2024.
JK added, the issues facing the Indonesian nation are quite numerous. Therefore, a leader who is calm and does not emphasize emotions is needed. “Leaders must have ideas, be calm and not emotional,” said the Chairman of the Indonesian Red Cross.
“What if we debate with the head of another country, can be punched in the head of state. So you have to be very careful in choosing a leader,” JK added again.
He even likened it to getting on a bus. For JK, the safety of passengers and the speed of reaching the destination are determined by the driver. “What if the driver likes to get angry, can cause a collision,” JK said.
On the same occasion, JK also revealed his reasons for choosing the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar (AMIN) pair in the 2024 election contest. According to him, AMIN is the best pair of the three pairs including in emulating the Prophet in choosing a leader.
“If we are guided by the Prophet, there are four. Siddiq, Amanah, Tabligh and Fatanah. and the most complete is the AMIN pair,” said JK firmly.
Therefore JK hopes that the AMIN couple will continue to go down to the community to campaign well. AMIN is also asked to explain the ideas that will be implemented if they win.
“Must give confidence to the community, that the AMIN is a leader who can advance this nation,” concluded JK.
