The atmosphere at the flag-lowering ceremony during the commemoration of Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day at Merdeka Palace was solemn and emotional. Titi Nurdianti, a Jakarta resident originally from Cilacap, Central Java, expressed a deep sense of pride and emotion during the event. She shared her challenging journey to secure an official ticket for the ceremony, describing it as overwhelming and moving. Titi recalled the intense competition online to obtain a ticket and the pure joy she felt when finally securing one.
Having only watched the ceremony on television before, Titi was thrilled to witness it in person on August 17, 2025. She donned traditional attire from West Nusa Tenggara, symbolizing her respect for the culture of the region. Titi especially enjoyed the procession to the National Monument following the flag-lowering ceremony, which enhanced the grandeur of the Independence Day celebration.
