President Prabowo Subianto expressed his gratitude to all the officers and participants of the 80th Independence Day ceremony at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Sunday. He commended their discipline, order, and enthusiasm during the event, stating his pride in their commitment. Prabowo emphasized the importance of the participants’ dedication and spirit, instructing the Ceremony Commander to personally thank each individual for their efforts.
Following the president’s instructions, the majority of invitations for the ceremony were given to the general public. The day’s activities included a Flag and Proclamation Procession from the National Monument to the Palace, as well as a People’s Festival featuring cultural performances and complimentary culinary offerings. The festivities were capped off with a fireworks display around the National Monument, with plans for the United Independence Carnival to mark the peak of the 80th Independence Day celebrations in 2025, spanning from Monas to the HI Roundabout and Semanggi.
