Jakarta – Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka have officially been elected as president and vice president, after the General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia announced the results of the recapitulation on Wednesday (20/3) night. Prabowo expressed his gratitude to the people who have exercised their right to vote in the 2024 election.
“We would like to express our deepest gratitude and appreciation to those who have exercised their right to vote in the 2024 election,” he said during a press conference at Kertanegara IV, Jakarta, on Wednesday (20/3).
Prabowo also expressed his gratitude to the KPU and the Election Organizers Honorary Council (DKPP) for the smooth implementation of the 2024 election, as well as to the TNI (Indonesian National Armed Forces) and the Polri (Indonesian National Police) for ensuring that this year’s democratic party ran orderly and safely.
“On February 14, 2024, we experienced the smooth implementation of the election. On behalf of Prabowo-Gibran and the Maju Indonesia Coalition, thank you to the KPU, DKPP, and a big appreciation to the TNI-Polri for ensuring that the 2024 election ran orderly, safely, and peacefully,” he said.
Prabowo then thanked the Maju Indonesia Coalition (KIM) which supported him, especially the chairpersons and all members of the political parties within it. In addition, Prabowo also thanked the National Campaign Team (TKN) and the supporting volunteers.
“We express our gratitude and appreciation to all chairpersons and all members of all parties in KIM, the TKN, volunteers, and mothers who are present here (at Kertanegara IV residence),” said Prabowo.
Prabowo invited all Indonesian people to unite to bring the country towards prosperity and justice. He emphasized the importance of strengthening the spirit of nationality amid differences.
“We invite all Indonesians to look forward, unite, and hold hands together. We must live in harmony, work together to bring Indonesia towards prosperity and justice,” said Prabowo.
“We must strengthen the spirit of nationality, if there are differences among us, it is good. We respect differences. The election is over, we must respect all the choices of the people,” he continued.
Finally, he emphasized that Prabowo-Gibran would be a president and vice president who work as hard as possible for all Indonesian people. Prabowo stated that they would prove this mandate by being leaders who truly serve the people.
“We have been chosen by the people, the mandate of the people is in our hands, Prabowo-Gibran will be the president and vice president of the government for all Indonesian people. For those who did not vote for us, please give us a chance. We will prove to be the president and vice president who will work as hard as possible for all Indonesian people,” he concluded. (SENOPATI)
